General Information

Elegans Hosta is a very large plant that is a great show piece for your landscape areas.  The large cupped, crinkled leaves are thick, heart shaped and up to 13" x 10" in size.  They are blue-green in color.  Elegans has white flowers trimmed in lavender that are 3 feet in height.  The foliage for the plant is quite dense that along with the size and texture of the leaves creates a wonderful appearance.

Additional Information

Hosta sieboldiana 'Elegans'  grows 2 to 3 feet in height and 3 to 4 feet wide.  It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 9.  Prefers average, consistent water in fertile well drained soil.   This hosta grows best in full to partial shade.  In warmer or sunny conditions, the soil should be kept moist to prevent stress on the plant.  This plant dies back over winter, but will come back every spring.  The plant can take some damage from slugs and snails, if left unchecked.  This hosta is largely disease free and a low maintenance plant.  Elegans hosta is a slower growing plant and may take a few years to acheive mature size.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
