General Information
The foliage of the First Frost Hosta emerges rich, blue-green with a golden margin. The margins lightens to pure white later in the season. First Frost is part of the 'Designer Series' of hostas. It is a sport of 'Halcyon'. Just like its name, it holds its beauty well until the 'first frost'. In midsummer, 28" tall scapes of light lavender flowers rise above the attractive foliage. Use in containers. Great as an accent plant for your landscape or perennial garden. Can be planted in mass for an attractive border. Excellent as ground cover under large trees.

We treat your plant
like it's ours
- Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.
When your plant
arrives
- Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
