General Information
Wooly Dutchman's Pipe Vine is a deciduous vining plant. It can grow to be a large spreading vine, reaching to 30 feet tall. This vine will typically do best grown on an arbor, trellis or some form of structure. The foliage will be deep green in color, growing densely on the stems. When the leaves are new, they will have a hairy, fuzzy overall appearance. Wooly Dutchman's Pipe Vine will have small, curved yellow flowers. They will typically be in bloom from mid to late spring. This vine is a host for the pipe vine swallowtail butterfly.
Additional Information
Aristolochia tomentosa can be 20 to 30 feet tall, with a width of 5 to 10 feet. It is recommended for USDA Climate Zones 5 to 8. Wooly Dutchman's Pipe Vine can grow in full to part sun conditions. It will do well with average to moderate amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
