General Information
Prairie Coreopsis is a perennial plant. This plant will work well in a variety of areas, and is native in the central United States. This coreopsis has a generally upright and open overall form. The foliage is smaller and narrow in shape. It is deep green in color, keeping a nice look through the growing seasons. The flowers will be in bloom from late spring into the summer. They will be daisy-like in form, bright yellow in color. The Prairie Coreopsis will work well for native gardens and is attractive to a variety of butterflies.
Additional Information
Coreopsis palmata will be 18 to 36 inches tall, with a width of 12 to 18 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 8. Prairie Coreopsis will tend to grow and flower best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. Once established, it has great drought tolerance.
