General Information
Crazy Cayenne Coreopsis is a great plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape. This perennial forms as a uniformly rounded mound of foliage. The foliage is grey-green in color and very narrow, sometimes being called 'Threadleaf' coreopsis. The flowers are smaller in size, but grow in abundance on the plant. The have a bright red-orange color. The undersides of the petals have a golden color, with some of that color appearing at the tips of the petals. These flowers bloom all summer long. They are great for attracting butterflies and bees. Great for long lasting cut flower arrangements.

Coreopsis verticillata 'Crazy Cayenne' grows to a height of 15 to 18 inches, with a spread of 20 to 24 inches. It is recommended for climate zones 5 to 9. It tends to flower its best in full sunlight. Crazy Cayenne grows best in well drained soils with average amounts of moisture. It can grow in a variety of soils and has been shown to have a good deal of drought tolerance.
