Gold Heart Bleeding Heart is a beautiful plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape. This is a smaller sized plant, with arching stems and great ornamental appeal. The heart shaped flowers give this plant its name. The flowers are bright pink, with a white petal 'bleeding' out the bottom of the flower. They bloom in abundance typically beginning mid-spring. The foliage of this Bleeding Heart adds great ornamental value. They are a very nice bright greenish-yellow. This plant typically starts to go into dormancy in the early summertime, once the heat arrives.

Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart' grows to a height of 18 to 24 inches, with a spread of 24 to 36 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. These plants tend to grow best in full to partial shade. Gold Heart does well with average, yet consistent amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
