General Information

Gold Heart Bleeding Heart is a beautiful plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape.  This is a smaller sized plant, with arching stems and great ornamental appeal.  The heart shaped flowers give this plant its name.  The flowers are bright pink, with a white petal 'bleeding' out the bottom of the flower.  They bloom in abundance typically beginning mid-spring.  The foliage of this Bleeding Heart adds great ornamental value.  They are a very nice bright greenish-yellow.  This plant typically starts to go into dormancy in the early summertime, once the heat arrives.

Additional Information

Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart' grows to a height of 18 to 24 inches, with a spread of 24 to 36 inches.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9.  These plants tend to grow best in full to partial shade.  Gold Heart does well with average, yet consistent amounts of moisture in well drained soils.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
