General Information
Coral Reef Bee Balm is a delightful perennial plant. It works very well in borders, beds and many other landscape areas. It is a moderate size plant, growing to 3 feet tall and wide. Although the flowers are the main attraction, the foliage is nice as well. The leaves are medium green in color and have a very nice fragrance. The foliage is also much less susceptible to powdery mildew than other varieties. The flowers have long, narrow petals giving them an almost shaggy appearance. They are deep pink in color, blooming from mid summer into the fall. These flowers are very attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
Additional Information
Monarda didyma 'ACreef' grows to a height of 36 to 40 inches, with a spread of 24 to 30 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. It can grow in full to partial sunlight. Coral Reef grows well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
