Dark Side of the Moon Astilbe is a perennial plant. This plant will form as an attractive mound of foliage, with flowers held above. It will be a great choice for a variety of landscaping areas. The leaves will emerge lighter in color, glossy in appearance. They transition to deep brown-burgundy in color. The flower stems bloom in abundance in the later summertime. They have a fluffy appearance, a very nice rosy-purple in color. The flowers of the Dark Side of the Moon Astilbe are great for cut flower purposes and are attractive to pollinators!

Astilbe 'Dark Side of the Moon' will be 20 to 22 inches tall, with a width of 24 to 28 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Dark Side of the Moon Astilbe will do well in partial to full shade conditions. This plant will tend flower better in partial sun in cooler climates. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained, fertile soils.
