General Information
Chocolate Cherry Sunflowers are a great choice for your flower garden. These ornamental sunflower seeds are an exclusive offering from Renees Garden seed company. These sunflowers can grow to be quite tall, at up to 6 to 7 feet tall. The sunflowers have nice deep green leaves to go along with the flowers. The flowers have overlapping petals and a velvety appearance. The petals are burgundy-red in color, with a chocolate colored center disk. These flowers are great for cut flower arrangements. Each seed packet will weigh 1 gram, containing 45 to 50 seeds.
Additional Information
The seeds can be either started early indoors or direct seeded in the garden. The nighttime temperature should remain 50 degrees or above, April to May in most areas. The seeds should be planted 1/2 inch deep, spaced 4 to 5 inches. Once the spouts are 3 inches or more, thin the plants to a 12 inch spacing.
