General Information

Tundra Honeyberry is a great plant that could fit well in your orchard or landscape areas.  This plant is great for northern climates, being cold hardy to zone 2.  It is a multi-stemmed shrub, growing in a fairly dense fashion.  The nice green foliage gives the shrub a full look, with good ornamental qualities along with the delicious berries.  In the early spring, white flowers develop, followed by the berries.  These berries ripen by late May into a dark blue-purple color.  They have a texture and taste somewhat reminiscent of blueberries.  The appearance is similar to an elongated blueberry.  Wonderful for fresh eating, jams, jellies, or wine.

Additional Information

Lonicera caerulea 'Tundra' grows to a height of 4 to 6 feet, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for climate zones 2 to 7.  They can grow in full to partial sunlight.  Tundra grows best in well drained soils, with average amounts of moisture. To ensure proper fruit production, another variety of honeyberry needs to be present for pollination.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
