General Information
Cheyenne Sky Switchgrass is a perennial grass. It is moderate in height, reaching to 3 feet tall. This grass has a nice, upright form, with a great deal of ornamental appeal. Cheyenne Sky Switchgrass is a great choice for a variety of landscaping areas. The narrow blades of grass will emerge blue-green in color in the spring. Beginning in the early summer, accents of deep wine-red begin to appear, turning all that by the end of the summer. Large, open pinkish-red flower to seed heads will appear in the late summertime.

Panicum virgatum 'Cheyenne Sky' will be 30 to 36 inches tall, with a spread of 15 to 18 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Cheyenne Sky Switchgrass tends to grow best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. Once established, it is said to have good drought tolerance.
