Savannah Ruby Grass is an annual grass. It can be hardy in zones 8 to 10. This is a compact grass, with a good deal of visual appeal. It will fit well in a variety of different landscaping areas. The foliage is narrow, densely growing. It is blue-green in color, turning reddish in the fall. Savannah Ruby Grass will have very attractive reddish-pink plumes of flowers in the summertime. These plumes will turn creamy-white over time. They can be a nice choice for use in flower arrangements.

Melinis nerviglumis 'Savannah' will be 18 to 24 inches tall, with a width of 10 to 12 inches. It is typically an annual, but can be perennial in warmer climates. Savannah Ruby Grass will grow well in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
