General Information

Big Blue Lily Turf is a delightful perennial plant.  In warmer southern climates, it is an evergreen plant.  In cooler areas, it would perform as more of a deciduous perennial.  The plant forms as a clump of foliage, with flowers held above.  The foliage is grass-like, narrow and arching.  It is slightly glossy and dark green in color.  Spikes of flowers are held above the leaves.  Blooming in the mid-summer, they are lavender-purple in color.  Great for borders, flower beds, along a pathway or a variety of other areas.

Additional Information

Liriope muscari 'Big Blue' grows to a height of 12 to 18 inches, with a spread of 15 to 18 inches.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 10.  It can grow well in full to partial sunlight.  Big Blue Lily Turf does well with average amounts of moisture in a variety of soil conditions.  It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
