General Information
Cayenne Fountain Grass is a perennial plant. It will be controlled in size, reaching 3 feet tall and wide. This ornamental grass will work well in a variety of landscaping areas. The leaves are narrow and arching in form. They will keep a nice deep green color through the growing seasons. Large bottlebrush shaped flower spikes from summer into fall. They emerge reddish in color, maturing to tan. The Cayenne Fountain Grass will have the added benefit of having infertile seed heads.

Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Cayenne' will be 30 to 36 inches tall, with a similar width. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Cayenne Fountain Grass will grow well in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well draining soils.
