General Information
Cassian Fountain Grass is a great plant, with a good deal of ornamental appeal. It is more size controlled than other fountain grasses, reaching 3 feet tall. It has a largely upright form, with seed heads arching outward. The foliage keeps a nice appearance through the spring and summer months, dark green in color. It will take on very nice yellowish to orange fall color. The seed heads are bottlebrush in nature. They will emerge white in color, tinted pink as they mature.

Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Cassian' reaches 2 to 3 feet tall, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Cassian Fountain Grass will can grow in full to partial sunlight. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
