General Information

Straight Eight Heirloom Slicing Cucumber is a nice choice for your vegetable garden.  This heirloom, organic seed packet is from Renee's Garden seed company.  The Straight Eight Cucumber has a vigorous growth habit and great production.  The cucumbers are nice and straight, growing upwards of 8 inches long.  They will have a crisp texture, with a nice mild and sweet flavor.  The cucumbers are great for slicing on to salads, in sandwiches or for a variety of other uses.  Each seed packet will contain 38 to 42 seeds.

Additional Information

Plant outdoors once temperatures remain above 50 degrees.  Plant in rows at a depth of one inch, spaced 18 inches apart.  Plant in small hills in groups of five, thinning down to the three strongest plants.  The seeds will typically germinate in 5 to 10 days.  Harvest can occur in approximately 60 days or so.

We treat your plant

like it's ours

  • Before your plant leaves our greenhouse, it’s wrapped and supported to handle the journey ahead. Pots are sealed to prevent spills, plants are gently netted and staked for stability, and boxes are packed with biodegradable peanuts to absorb movement along the way. Thoughtful packaging helps your plant arrive happy, healthy, and ready to grow.

When your plant
arrives

  • Plants may show signs of stress after shipping, such as bent stems or drooping leaves. This is normal. Prompt unpacking, proper watering, and a short recovery period in the shade help plants rebound quickly. Avoid heavy pruning and give your plant time to adjust as it establishes in your landscape.
