General Information
Brandywine Tomatoes are an excellent addition to your vegetable garden. These organic, heirloom seeds are from Renees Garden seed company. This is a vigorous tomato plant, with attractive deep green foliage. It is a tall tomato plant, growing upwards of 5 to 7 feet tall, and will require caging or staking of some form. The tomatoes can grow to be quite large, up to 1.5 pounds, and are broadly globe shaped. They are bright red in color, with rich flavor and are quite juicy! The tomatoes are great for eating fresh, on a sandwich, in a salad or a variety of other uses. Each seed packet will weigh .125 grams, containing approximately 45 seeds.
Additional Information
Tomato seeds are typically best started indoors, approximately 6 to 8 weeks before average temperatures reach 55 degrees at night. Generally February to March in most areas. The plants can be transplanted outdoors from May to June. These plants, being larger in size, should be planted at least 3 feet apart. The plant will typically begin to produce a harvest approximately 80 days after transplanting.
