Hughes Juniper is an evergreen shrub. This is a low growing, compact and spreading shrub. It can work well in a variety of landscaping areas. It does well in difficult soil areas and in rocky spots. Hughes Juniper also stands up well against hot walls or driveways. The branches do have a twisted nature, adding to the appeal of the plant. The evergreen foliage has very nice bluish-green color. Very nice heat tolerant, low maintenance evergreen shrub.

Juniperus horizontalis 'Hughes' grows to a height of 10 to 12 inches, with a spread of 6 to 8 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Hughes Juniper tends to grow best in full sunlight conditions. It does well with average to lower amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
