Black Dragon Japanese Cedar is an evergreen tree. It will have an overall pyramidal shape. The growth has a somewhat irregular form, providing a unique form. This will make it a great choice for a variety of gardening spaces. The needles grow nice and densely on the Black Dragon Japanese Cedar. They are a very attractive dark green in color. It will have lighter green new growth, providing a nice contrast during the year.

Cryptomeria japonica 'Black Dragon' will be 6 to 10 feet tall, with a width of 3 to 4 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Black Dragon Japanese Cedar can grow in full to partial sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well draining soils.
