General Information
Gnome Firethorn is a deciduous shrub. It is a good deal shorter than standard firethorns, reaching approximately 5 feet tall. It has a upright, dense and rounded overall form. Some care should be taken in handling and siting on this plant, as it contains an abundance of thorns. The leaves of the Gnome Firethorn are quite attractive, glossy and dark green in color. In the springtime there are abundant large clusters of pure white flowers. Following the flowers are abundant reddish-orange berries in the fall.
Additional Information
Pyracantha x 'Gnozam' reaches a height of 4 to 5 feet, with a similar overall spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Gnome Firethorn tends to do best when planted in full sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
