General Information
Mount Airy Fothergilla is an ornamental deciduous shrub. It is moderate in overall size. The ornamental qualities of this shrub make it great for a variety of landscaping areas. The Mount Airy Fothergilla grows in an overall rounded and upright fashion. The flowers are bottlebrush in shape, up to 3 inches long. They are white in color, with a very nice fragrance. They bloom in abundance in the springtime. The leaves are dark green in color, and bluish-green on the underside of leaf. The foliage takes on beautiful colors of orange, yellow and reddish-purple in the fall.

Fothergilla 'Mount Airy' grows 3 to 5 feet tall, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 8. Mount Airy Fothergilla does best in full to partial sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. It is not known to have any disease or insect issues.
