General Information

Ruby Chip Butterfly Bush is an ornamental deciduous shrub.  It is smaller in size, growing upwards of three feet tall and wide.  The size and ornamental appeal make this shrub perfect for a variety of landscaping areas.  The foliage is quite attractive throughout the growing season, with a nice grey-green color.  The flower spikes bloom in abundance from early summer into the fall.  The small individual flowers are a very nice magenta-pink in color.  These flowers very attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds!

Additional Information

Buddleia x 'SMNBDD' grows to a height of 30 to 36 inches, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9.  Ruby Chip tends to do best in full sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is said to have good heat and drought tolerance, once established.
