Hot Shot Azalea is a delightful ornamental shrub. It is smaller in size, growing 3 feet tall and wide. The size and ornamental appeal make it perfect for a partly shaded area of your landscape. The leaves are smaller in size and evergreen. They have a glossy appearance and medium green color in the growing season, yellowish-green in the winter. The flower bloom in clusters in the mid springtime. They are funnel shaped and are reddish-orange in color. Great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds!

Rhododendron 'Girard's Hot Shot' grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 8. Hot Shot tends to do best in partial sunlight. It does best in well drained soils, with average amounts of moisture. It tends to grow best in slightly acidic soils.
