Butterflies Magnolia

General Information

Butterflies Magnolia is a great item that would fit well in many different landscape areas.  This shrub puts on a wonderful display of spring flowering, and thus has a great deal of ornamental uses.  This item can come in either tree or shrub form, in our case, it is shrub form.  It grows in a multi stemmed fashion, in a larger size for a shrub, up to 15 feet tall.  The magnolia flowers generally bloom in the early spring time period.  They are large flowers, 4 to 5 inches across.  The flowers are yellow with 10 to 15 petals with a nice light lemon oil scent.  The flowers tend to be short lived, but cover the shrub in profusion while in bloom.  The leaves do not usually appear until after the flowers.  They are large, 8 inch long leaves.  They oblong in shape in a darker green color.  This color tends to persist all summer, but produces very little fall color.
