Winecraft Black Smokebush
General Information
Winecraft Black Smokebush is a deciduous shrub. It has moderate in size, reaching upwards of 6 feet tall. This Smokebush does stay more size controlled than other varieties, allowing it to function well in a variety of landscaping areas. In the early summertime, large, airy open flower clusters appear. The ‘smoke-like’ flowers are pinkish-red in color. The rounded leaves emerge purple in color, maturing to purplish-black in the summer months. In the fall, the leaves take on very attractive reddish to orange tones.
Additional Information
Cotinus coggygria ‘NCCO1’ reaches 4 to 6 feet in height, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Winecraft Black Smokebush tends to do best in full sunlight conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
