White Diamonds Hydrangea
General Information
White Diamonds Hydrangea is a wonderful shrub that will fit well in many different areas of your landscape. It is a smaller sized hydrangea, giving it the opportunity to be placed in more landscape areas than many of the larger sized hydrangea will not fit. It tends to have a fairly compact, upright growing shape. The foliage grows densely on the shrub, giving it a nice full look. The leaves are moderate in size and are oval shape coming to a pointed end. They have a thick leathery texture and are dark green in color. The flowers form in large, pyramidal shaped clusters. The flowers are small and white upon emergence, transitioning to light pink. The flowers bloom in profusion over a long season from summer into the fall.
Additional Information
Hydrangea paniculata ‘White Diamonds’ grows 3 to 4 feet in height, with a spread of 4 to 5 feet. It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 8. It can grow in full to partial sun. White Diamonds grows in a variety of soil conditions under evenly moist water conditions. It seems to be quite tolerant of urban growing conditions. Especially in colder climates, mulch should be applied around the root zone, to give some level of protection to the roots. It can be trimmed in the late winter, after the coldest weather has passed.
