White Bleeding Heart
White Bleeding Heart is a delightful plant for different areas of your landscape. It works well in borders, flower beds or any shady area that need a great burst of spring color. Forms as a clump of foliage, with great flowers. The leaves have a nice bluish-green color. The foliage tends decline once the warmer summer months come. The flowers grow in abundance on leafless stems. The heart shaped flowers are white, with a white petal extending from the bottom of the flower. These flowers typically bloom mid spring.
Dicentra spectabilis ‘Alba’ grows to a height of 24 to 30 inches, with a spread of 24 to 36 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. It grows best in full to partial shade. White Bleeding Heart does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
