Description

Wine & Roses Weigela

General Information

The foliage of the Wine & Roses Weigela is dark burgundy purple.  The elegant foliage provides a stunning contrast for the deep throated, rosy-pink flowers.  The name comes from the ‘wine’ colored foliage and the ‘rose’ colored blooms.  It was developed in the Netherlands and won the 2000 Gold Medal Plant Award. Use the flower stems in cut flower arrangements. Beautiful as a specimen for the landscape. Plant in mass for stunning spring color. Use in foundation plantings, borders and hedges.
