New Vintage Violet Yarrow
New Vintage Violet Yarrow is a delightful plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape. It grows in a compact fashion, with deeply cut and fern-like foliage. The foliage has a grey-green color, and has a nice fragrance. The individual flowers are quite small, growing in larger clusters. The flowers are violet-red in color, with a white center eye. They bloom all summer long, into the early fall. Rebloom is possible, if spent flower heads are removed. Great for cut flower uses and for attracting butterflies and bees!
Achillea millefolium ‘Balvinviolet’ grows to a height of 12 to 14 inches, with a spread of 10 to 12 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. It grows best in full sunlight. New Vintage Violet grows best in well drained soils with average amounts of moisture. It tends to do best in average soils, as it can tend to flop in rich soils. After the plant is established, it exhibits good drought tolerance.
