General Information
Tronchuda Beira Portuguese Kale is a great addition to your vegetable garden! These are exclusive seeds from Renees Garden seed company. This Portuguese Kale can reach 18 inches in height. The plant will form as a cluster of leaves, holding the foliage nice and upright. The broad leaves are blue-green in color, with a white center rib and veins. These leaves have a mild, rich overall flavor, with great nutritional qualities. These Kale leaves are great for sautéing, salads, soups, stews and a variety of other uses. Each seed packet will weigh .5 grams and contains approximately 80 seeds.
Additional Information
Tronchuda Beira Portuguese Kale can be direct seeded in the garden, or started early indoors. The seeds can be planted February to May for the spring garden and August to September for a fall garden. The seeds should be planted 1/4 inch deep, planted in groups of 2 to 3. These plants should be thinned to 12 to 18 inches to allow for full growth. The seeds will usually germinate in 7 to 10 days. The plants will reach full maturity in approximately 60 days.
