Superior Blueberry
General Information
Superior Blueberry is a deciduous fruiting shrub. It has great berries, to go along with some nice ornamental appeal. This shrub is moderate in size, growing in an overall upright habit. Nice blue-green foliage in the growing season, tinted maroon-red in the fall. It produces very attractive clusters of white, bell shaped flowers in the springtime. They are produced a little later than some other varieties, lessening the chance of frost damage. The blueberries typically ripen early to mid July. They have a nice sweet taste, perfect for fresh eating or a variety of other culinary uses.
Additional Information
Vaccinium ‘Superior’ grows to a height of 3 to 5 feet, with a a similar overall spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 7. Superior tends to grow and produce best in full sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained and slightly acidic soils. Displays great cold hardiness qualities.
