Sunburst Honeylocust features bright, golden yellow foliage. This bright new foliage contrasts beautifully with the darker, bright green foliage that grows close to the trunk. The compound leaves grow 8″ long giving a textured, fern like look. It will provides lightly dappled shade for your lawn or landscape with plenty of light for the grass to to grow. Sunburst is a fruitless variety. Inconspicuous yellow green flowers bloom in spring. This fast growing tree will grow up to 2′ each year. The Sunburst Honeylocust is often grown for its attractive foliage that makes it a wonderful specimen tree for any landscape.
Gleditsia triacanthos ‘Suncole’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 35-40 feet tall with a spread of 30-35 feet. Plant in zones 4 to 7. Good drought tolerance. Will tolerate air pollution.

Grow in average, well drained soil. Will tolerate a variety of soil types. Leaf spot, canker, witches’ broom, powdery mildew, root rot, mistletoe and rust may be problems for a Honey locust tree.
