Sunburst Honeylocust
General Information
Sunburst Honeylocust is a deciduous tree. It will eventually be a nice sized tree, reaching up to 50 feet in height. This tree would be a great choice for a larger sized yard, park or a variety of other settings. The Sunburst Honeylocust will have compound leaves, with smaller leaflets forming the ‘leaf’ structure. They will emerge bright yellow in the spring, transitioning to deep green in through the summer months. The leaflets will turn golden-yellow in the fall. These trees have the added benefit of being seedless and largely thornless.
Additional Information
Gleditsia triacanthos ‘Suncole’ will be 35 to 50 feet tall, with a width of 30 to 35 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Sunburst Honeylocust will tend to grow best in full sunlight conditions. This tree can do well in a variety of soil conditions and average amounts of moisture. Once established, it should have nice drought tolerance.
