Description

Spring Snow Crabapple

General Information

Spring Snow Crabapple is a beautiful tree that would fit well in many different areas of your landscape.  This tree is best known for its flowers, but it has many other qualities as well.  It is a small to moderate sized tree, growing in an oval shaped fashion.  The foliage grows quite dense, providing cover for birds and animals.  The foliage is oval in shape, with serrated edges and is slightly cupped.  The leaves take on a nice yellow color in the fall.  The flowers are what really make this a standout tree.  They appear in April, in small single white flowers.  They generally have 5 petals, with small stamens extending from the center.  They completely cover the tree, making it appear to be covered in snow.  These flowers are quite fragrant and are attractive to butterflies.  One of the best qualities of this tree is that it is fruitless.  That makes it perfect for planting along streets, sidewalks, courtyards or anywhere that falling crabapples could create an issue.
