General Information
Showy Goldenrod features showy clusters of bright yellow flowers that bloom from late summer to early fall. These delightful flowers grow atop reddish stems with narrow leaves. One of the showiest goldenrods available. Native to some areas of the eastern and Midwestern United States. Often found in open woods, fields and prairies. Plant in wildflower gardens or open meadows. Best planted in an area where it can naturalize. Good choice for butterfly gardens. Adds great color and texture. Use in your cut flower arrangements.

Solidago speciosa grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 36-48″ tall with a spread of 18-24″. Plant in zones 5 to 9. Drought tolerant. Will tolerate clay and rocky soil. Attracts butterflies, birds and bees. Deer resistant. May become aggressive if grown in moist soil.

Easy to grow in average, well drained soil. Will tolerate a variety of soil types, including clay. Deadhead to encourage re-blooming. No serious insect or disease problems. Leaf rust may occur.
