Showy Coneflower – Native

General Information

Showy Coneflower is a native perennial plant. It is native to a broad range of the eastern United States. This plant forms as a clump of foliage with flowers held in an upright fashion above. The foliage is oval in shape, with a bit of a rough texture. It will keep a deep green color through the growing seasons. There are abundant flowers from mid summer to early fall. The flowers are of nice size, at about 3 inches wide. The narrow flower petals are bright yellow in color, with a brown to black center seed cone. Great for attracting butterflies!

Additional Information

Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii will be 2 to 3 feet tall, with a spread of 18 to 24 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Showy Coneflower tends to grow best in full sun conditions. They will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
