Salvia Caradonna

General Information

Caradonna Salvia is a great perennial plant.  It is perfect for borders, flower beds, or a variety of other areas.  It forms as a clump of foliage, with flowers held above.  Toothed, oval shaped leaves are a nice medium green in color.  The leaves emit a nice fragrance when crushed.  The flower stems are dark purple in color, providing a nice contrast for the flowers.  The flowers are violet-blue in color, blooming in the summertime.  Great for attracting butterflies!

Additional Information

Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’  grows to a height of 18 to 24 inches, with a spread of 15 to 18 inches.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 8.  Caradonna tends to grow best in full sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  Once established, it is said to have good drought tolerance.
