General Information

Ruby and Emerald Lettuce seeds would be a great addition to your vegetable garden!  It provides ornamental appeal, as well as tasty lettuce.  These seeds are an exclusive mix from Renees Garden seed company.  One of the varieties is an emerald green colored baby butterhead lettuce.  The Ruby lettuce is a mini leaf lettuce that is dark red in color.  Both of these varieties will reach 5 to 6 inches in size.  Ruby and Emerald Lettuce plants have good heat tolerance, but should be harvested before they ‘bolt’ or elongate too much.  They are great for salads or adding an extra crunch to a sandwich.  Each seed packet will weigh 750 mg and will contain approximately 640 seeds.

Additional Information

Ruby and Emerald Lettuce can be planted February to September in warmer climates, April to July in cooler areas.  Plant mid to late summer for fall harvest.  The seeds should be planted at a depth of 1/4 inch, spaced 1 inch apart.  Once the seedlings have grown a bit, thin to a space of 5 inches to allow for full growth.  This lettuce is also great for planting in containers. It will take approximately 50 to 65 days for the lettuce to reach full maturity.
