Queen Victoria Cardinal Flower
Queen Victoria Cardinal Flower is a delightful perennial that will do well in your landscape. It is perfect for borders, flower beds or even in containers. It grows in an overall upright fashion, with a number of great ornamental qualities. The stems and leaves of the Queen Victoria are a deep burgundy in color. It does provide a very nice contrast for the flowers. The flowers grow in abundance on the top half of the stems. They are a very attractive orange to red in color. They bloom from mid-summer to early fall. Great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.
Lobelia x speciosa ‘Queen Victoria’ grows to a height of 30 to 36 inches, with a spread of 12 to 18 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. It tends to grow best in full sunlight. Queen Victoria does well with average to moderate moisture levels in generally well drained soils.
