General Information
Purple Sun Carrots would be a great addition to your garden! These carrots are nice and large in size, grow upwards of 8 inches long. They have a rounded top and conical shape, tapering at an even rate to the bottom. The carrots are a very attractive purplish-maroon, with a yellow core. They nice bright green foliage above the ground. Purple Sun Carrots have a nice sweet flavor and crisp texture. They are perfect for cutting and eating fresh or for a variety of cooking uses. This seed packet is from Renee’s Garden seed company. The packet weighs 650 mg, containing 430 seeds.
Additional Information
The Purple Sun Carrot seeds should be planted once threat of hard frost has passed. They can be planted from March to June and then July to August for Fall crops. The seeds should be planted at a depth of 1/4 inch, spaced every 1/2 inch, before thinning to a spacing of 2 inches. They will typically emerge within 10 to 20 days. The carrots should reach maturity at around 75 days.
