Opening Day Viburnum
General Information
Opening Day Viburnum is a great deciduous shrub. Great for borders, as an ornamental hedge or a variety of other landscaping areas. It grows quite densely, in an upright and rounded overall fashion. The leaves are oval shaped with ridges. Slightly glossy deep green through the spring and summer. Turns a very nice purplish-red in the fall. Abundant, baseball shaped flowers clusters mid-spring. They emerge tinted lime green, before turning pure white in color.
Additional Information
Viburnum plicatum ‘PIIVIB-II’ grows to a height of 6 to 8 feet, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 8. Opening Day can grow well in full to partial sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
