Morning Light Maiden Grass
General Information
Morning Light Maiden Grass is an ornamental grass. It is of moderate size, growing to 5 feet tall. It grows in a compact fashion, with an upright overall form. This warm season grass typically does not begin to grow until mid to late spring. The leaves are long and narrow, arching slightly at the top. The leaves are green in color, with white edges. Large flower plumes appear in the fall. They are reddish-bronze in color. They mature to cream to tan in color. This plant has nice winter interest with the tan leaves and seed heads.

Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’ reaches a height of 4 to 5 feet, with a spread of 2 to 3 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Morning Light can grow well in full to partial sunlight. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
