Description

Little Volunteer Tuliptree

General Information

Little Volunteer Tuliptree is a deciduous tree. It is much smaller than the common tuliptree, reaching upwards of 35 feet tall. The tree will have a generally pyramidal to rounded canopy. The controlled size and ornamental appeal make this a great tree for the front lawn or many other landscaping areas. Tulip shaped flowers will appear in the springtime. They are greenish-yellow in color, with an orange center. The leaves are bright green, with a glossy appearance, throughout the spring and summer. They can be a very nice yellow in the fall.

Additional Information

Liriodendron tulipiferia ‘Little Volunteer’ will be 30 to 35 feet tall, with a spread of 15 to 20 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Little Volunteer Tuliptree tends to do best in full sun conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
