General Information

The Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon is a beautiful hybrid from Dr. Roderick Woods of England. It has large, single lavender flowers with a lacy center and a reddish eye.  These gorgeous flowers bloom July through September.  The plant forms an upright, vase shape with bushy habit. It is a bushy, free branching, multi stemmed shrub.  Gold medal winner from the Boskoop Horticultural Societ. Green Thumbs Award Winner.  The Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon is an old-time favorite and a good choice for late summer color!  Lavender Chiffon has large, single lavender flowers with a lacy center. Attractive specimen plant. Great for shrub borders, foundation plantings and hedges. Can be trained as a small tree.

Additional Information

Hibiscus syriacus ‘Notwoodone’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 8-12′ tall with a spread of 6-10′. Plant in zones 5 to 8. Introduced from England, winner of numerous plant awards. Attracts birds, butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Will tolerate Black Walnut. Drought tolerant once established.

Care & Shipping Notes

Easy to grow in average to moist, well drained soil. No serious insect or disease problems.  The Lavender Chiffon can be trimmed in the spring because it blooms on new wood later in the summer! Fertilize with Tree & Shrub Fertilizer in the fall.   Rose of Sharon are somewhat susceptible to Leaf spot, canker, blights and rust. Aphids, whiteflies and Japanese beetles may be pests and may damage foliage if not treated. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI.
