The Kieffer Pear produces large pears with greenish yellow skin. The flesh is white and has a crisp, juicy texture. Pears should not be allowed to ripen on the tree. They will ripen more easily in storage. The fruits ripen early to mid fall. Kieffer Pear is self-fertile, but will yield better crops with two trees. Spring flowers are pink to white. Wonderful choice for climates with mild winters. Use for eating fresh, baking, canning or preserves. Excellent for your home orchard.
Pyrus communis ‘Kieffer’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 15-20′ tall with a spread of 15-20′. Plant in zones 4 to 9. Heat and humidty tolerant. Very hardy pear. Attracts bees to the garden!
