Description

Jelly Bean Blueberry

General Information

Jelly Bean Blueberry is a deciduous fruiting shrub.  It has great berries, to go along with some nice ornamental appeal.  This blueberry is smaller in size, making it perfect for a variety of landscaping areas or even in large containers.  Very nice green foliage throughout the growing season, taking on nice red hues in the fall.  In the spring, clusters of white, pink tinted flowers appear.  Delightful blueberries follow.  The berries tend to ripen early to mid July.  The berries have good size and a very sweet taste.  Perfect for fresh eating or a variety of other culinary uses.

Additional Information

Vaccinium ‘Jelly Bean’ grows to a height of 1 to 2 feet, with a similar overall spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8.  It tends to grow and produce best in full sunlight.  Jelly Bean does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is said to have great cold hardiness qualities.
