Jacquemontii Birch
General Information
The foliage of the Jacquemontii Birch is toothy, tapered and deep glossy green. The tree grows with upright, oval habit. Yellowish brown and green catkins appear in spring. Cone like fruits follow the female catkins. Yellow fall color. Attractive exfoliating white bark provides extra interest. Jacquemontii is a native of Western China.
Additional Information
Betula jacquemontii grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 35-40′ tall with a spread of 20-25′. It does best when planted in well drained soil with adequate amounts of moisture. It can be adaptable to a wide variety of soils and conditions. Plant in zones 4 to 7. Very cold hardy. May be short lived in hot, humid climates.
