Description

Ivory Halo Dogwood

General Information

Ivory Halo Dogwood  is an attractive, compact,  red stemmed shrub with variegated foliage.  It has great year round interest with its attractive summer foliage, and red twigs in winter.  The beautiful red twigs will make a great addition to your cut flower arrangements.  New stems have the best red coloring.  Prune oldest stems after flowering to encourage new stem growth.  Insignificant yellow green flowers. Small white berries attract birds.  This is a great compact dogwood for planting in smaller areas. It was introduced by Bailey Nurseries.  This rapid growing dogwood will spread through suckering.  Remove suckers to prevent colonizing.  Great for a naturalized planting where it can colonize.  Plant as a screen, hedge, or along a property line. Common Name: tatarian dogwood

Additional Information

Cornus alba ‘Bailhalo’ grows best in Full Sun.  It will grow 5-6′ tall with a similar spread.  Plant in zones 3 to 7.  Drought tolerant.  Attracts birds and butterflies. Deer and rabbit resistant.
