Indian Warrior Big Bluestem Grass
General Information
The clump forming Indian Warrior features dark green stems with red tips.Color deepens to smoky purple in midsummer. Deep red fall color. Common name: Big Bluestem. Blooms late summer. Seed heads provide good interest. Tiny red-orange pollen sacs droop from the newly opened, deep purple flower heads. Add the stems to your cut flower arrangements. Can be used in dried floral arrangements, also. Great as a screen. Plant in mass for an attractive foliage border. Use as a specimen or accent plant.
Additional Information
Andropogon gerardii ‘Indian Warrior’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 5-6 feet tall with a spread of 18-24 inches. Plant in zones 3 to 9. Drought tolerant.
