General Information
Hummingbird Clethra is a deciduous shrub. It is moderate in size, reaching to 4 feet tall. It is a slower growing, compact, rounded shrub. It has some nice ornamental features, perfect for a variety of landscaping areas. The foliage on this clethra have a good deal of ornamental appeal. They are oval in shape, with a glossy appearance and deep green color. The Hummingbird Clethra blooms in abundance in the mid-summer time. The flower clusters are bright white in color, with a very nice fragrance.

Clethra alnifolia ‘Hummingbird’ reaches a height of 2 to 4 feet, with a spread of 3 to 5 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Hummingbird Clethra can grow well in full to partial sunlight conditions. It will do well in average to moderate moisture conditions in well drained soils. It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
