Homestead Purple Verbena

General Information

Homestead Purple Verbena is a perennial plant. This verbena is lower growing, reaching upwards of 12 inches tall. It has a nice spreading habit, with a great deal of ornamental appeal. It will fit well in a variety of landscaping areas. Homestead Purple Verbena has very attractive densely growing foliage. It is deep green in color and can have a silvery overlay. This plant will produce abundant, large flower clusters from late spring through the summer. They are deep purple in color, with a nice fragrance.

Verbena canadensis ‘Homestead Purple’ reaches a height of 6 to 12 inches, with a spread of 2 to 3 feet. It is recommended for USDA planting zones 7 to 11. It will almost certainly perform as an annual in any colder zones. Homestead Purple Verbena tends to do best in full sunlight. It will grow well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
